You probably have a wealth of things to say I'm certain that you truly do But your'e gonna have to wait to bring me into the know until I've had my first cup of joe You always delight me with your caustic wit and please me with your pleasantries but nothing is funny yet so I'm placing you on hold until I've had my first cup of joe it's me it's not you don't take it personally but you sounds just like a pterodactyl in heat as soon as I find my first cup of joe I know your voice will sound like Nina Simone You probably have a wealth of things to say I'm certain that you truly do but your'e gonna have to wait to bring me into the know until I find my first cup of joe

Emerald City 02:23
I got this feeling taking over count back from 20 now I'm under spiral through tunnel lights I'll wake up right where we left off My valentine is otherworldly pretty reflecting underneath the Emerald City Well you can live until 150 we laugh at time here in the emerald city we met there when the war was over those streets were filled with joy and wonder the women danced all night we drank until the morning light the streets are calm and it is never too busy we laugh at time here in the emerald city there's no pollution yeah the breathing is easy don't have to worry in the Emerald City

There's always something in between ever after and happily each time I think I'm getting close something just knocks me off the road There's always something in between where I am and where I want to be the finish line is just a ghost I'm facing backwards on the road I'm always trapped inside a dream where things are perfect then they cut the scene I wake up to the saddest melody played in a minor key and your'e no longer by my side the traffic's always moving slow but only on the roads I want to go think to myself I should lay low an hour after i leave home There's always something in between a healthy breakfast and my self esteem the mirror let's me play again the mirror never let's me win

the world is drunk but i'm ok why's everybody keep on acting that way i only drink to keep the drunks at bay so when my sober head gets lonely i'll meet you at drunk in shortly the world is drunk and so am i let's break each other's tiny little hearts tonight let's make a toast and melt into a dream cuz nothing is exactly the way you think it seems the world is drunk, but I'm ok I'll sleep this broken heart away but tomorrow comes and always steals the day so when my sober head gets lonely i'll meet you at drunk in shortly

In over my head crossed over the line I feel like i did the same that I did a million more times now eyes are all red and mouth is all dry I should have stayed home but now i'm out here and wondering why i try to stay calm start fixing my clothes is this how i walk? I feel like my socks are tight on my toes EVERYONE KNOWS Just 7 more blocks to hydrate my face it seems there's way more people everywhere today 10 paces ahead, that man on his bike just looked at me weird i think i'll cross the other side but a grandpa in green is mowing the rows I feel like his eyes are moving in time wherever i go EVERYONE KNOWS shoulda stayed home where it is cold and dark inside feel like the sun is shooting lasers in my eyes i shoulda stayed home i get to the door and now i'm inside i walk to the case and give the door one heck of a slide I grab it and wait just 2nd in line I open the can and pour the bubbles down my slide the man rings me up I feel for my phone I feel for my wallet they are not there I left them at home EVERYONE KNOWS

I can picture us swinging by some porch light in June wearing our years like two flowers in bloom maybe sometimes we'll argue over nothing to do making faces, like the old couples do I see us drinking old-fashioned's on a Sunday at noon you complaining that you ate way too much of your food but I still order up dessert when you tell me not to and we'll just laugh at each other like the old couples do You'll pester me about my medicine and I'll go on and on about how Letterman, and all the old shows are better than what we got now But you'll still understand how much it means to have you always holding tight onto my hand, and if i don't always say it, you'll know i love you I hope we'll make it so save a seat on that swing next to you We'll swing on to the end, like the old couples do

Been such a fun ride where flowers own high fives love being alive on a planet with streams here comes the sunshine leaves doing hand signs i laugh with the bird types who whistle all my dreams but there's someone I'll truly miss just listening to his songs i dedicate this one to me, he never done me wrong keeps me awake with visions and words that carry on oh man, I'll miss me when I'm gone This ain't my first ride no in my last life I came from a good tribe I'll return in my dreams one proud Lakota from South Dakota we didn't draw imaginary lines back then at all not sure if I've been better or been worse this time around I know I will come back someday with feet on hallowed ground I like it here I'll do my very best to stick around oh man, I'll miss me when I'm gone

Nuther Way 02:36

about

This is the soundtrack of my Winter in Sarasota. All songs written during a 6 week period, all songs recorded, at least started, the day the song was written. The idea was to come up with inspiration fast, and to capture it as fast as I could, so I could not talk myself out of or into changing the raw ideas.
